WEEK OF April 11:

Plainfield South (7-2-1) won 5-1 over Morris on Moonday, with Alex Truhlar and Danni Dame netting two goals apiece and Kelsey Pruett scoring once for the Cougars. Pruett and Kailyn Haski chipped in two assists apiece and Alex Goff had one.

Geneva (5-2-4) won 3-0 over Rosary on goals from Molly Axen, Kristin Rodriguez, and Sarah Davison on Thursday, and then topped Streamwood 6-0 on Saturday. In a game called at halftime due to snow, the Vikings got two goals from Axen and a trio of assists from Catherine Allon. Rodriguez, Davison, Caitrin Griffin, and Hope Goodman had a goal each while Stevie Fanale and Amanda Lulek had an assist each.

Saint Viator (6-5) lost 3-2 to Hersey in its final Pepsi Showdown contest in Schaumburg, getting goals from Katelyn Hammarlund and Katherine Petrovich and an assist from Chloe Lutheringhausen.

St. Charles North (6-2) won 6-0 over Larkin on Tuesday before winning 1-0 vs. Waubonsie Valley on Wednesday. The North Stars scored three times in each half against Larkin and goals scored came in order from: Jessi Kruzan (assist to Kirsten Brown), Melissa Bronke (Carleigh Dusek), Sophie Pohl (Michelle Johnson), Sohpie Pohl (Michelle Johnson), Lisa Manski (Carly Dietrich), and Melissa Bronke (Kirsten Brown). Kendall Karr had one save in the win.

Oswego East (7-3-1) won 9-1 over IMSA on Monday, with goalkeepers Hannah Gargrave and Cynthia De La Torre sharing in the win.. Coach Lauren Anderson: "The Wolves goals started off in the first half with Katie Ross scoring from a Justine Lee assist. Lee then added a goal of her own from an assist by sister Sam Lee. Brittany Brewer scored the Wolves third goal, which was assisted by Julianna DePoister and Brewer would add another unassisted goal before half-time. Ross added two more of her own in the start of the second half, with the first being assisted by Carli Schlaker and the second by Brewer. Holly Schwarz scored off of Schlakers pass while Megan Moran added another goal which was assisted by Megan Ross. The final goal from the Wolves came from Victoria Pecci, who worked the ball down the length of the field to score an unassisted goal."

A 2-0 win over Minooka on Thursday and a 4-0 win over Dundee-Crown on Saturday gave OE its 5th and 6th shutouts of the season. The Wolves won their 5th consecutive game with the win over D-C in the Lake Park tournament, a streak during which they've earned a 25-1 edge in goals scored. Katie Ross struck first on a Justine Lee assist vs. D-C, and Lee then assisted on a Carli Schlaker goal. Schlaker scored an unassisted goal before halftime and Megan Ross scored on a Sam Lee assist to end the day's scoring. Hannah Gargrave made 5 saves in the shutout win.

Prospect (5-4-1) won 3-0 over Wauconda on Friday and 4-0 over Rockford Lutheran on Saturday in its first two games of this year's 8-team Prospect Invitational, before winning 2-1 in a shootout for the Invite title over Glenwood. Elena Cukurs had two goals and an assist in the win over Wauconda, Agnes Stankiewicz scored, and Lexi Phillips chipped in two assists. Cukurs, Stankiewicz, Phillips, and Sara Helwink netted goals against Rockford Lutheran, while Phillips, Helwink, and Kelly Ziegenfuss had an assist each in the win.

Lockport (7-2) won 3-0 over Lincoln-Way East in a game played at Toyota Park on Friday, getting a hat-trick from Allie Brehm as keeper Alyssa Deyoung made two saves in the Porters' fourth consecutive shutout and fifth on the season. Coach Todd Elkei: "We got strong efforts from Leah Plescia and Sam Spencer who ran the flanks and served many dangerous balls from the outside. Julie Divita, Brynn Feeley, Lauren Labanouskas, Hannah Pilch, and Plescia all had strong efforts on defense to help secure the shut out."

Wheaton North (6-4) won 1-0 over Plainfield Central (3-6-1) on Saturday in a final Pepsi Showdown game for both teams. Halie Ybarra netted the goal for the Falcons while goalkeepers Emily Barry and Jessica Kelly shared the shutout in North's second consecutive win and fourth shutout of the year. The Falcons won 2-0 over Downers Grove North on Monday, with Ybarra and Anne Denz tallying and Barry in net for the shutout.

Hinsdale Central (5-3-2) and Plainfield North tied 1-1 on Monday in Hinsdale. Mallory Feinstein tallied for Hinsdale on an Eryka Hawkins assist, while Shayna Dheel scored for Plainfield North on a feed from Callie O'Donnell. Central followed with a 3-1 win over West Chicago on a trio of first-half goals; two from Eryka Hawkins on two Mallory Feinstein assists in the game's first 5 minutes, and a third from Katie Camden on a Mary Cefaratti assist just before halftime. Kathryn Knoch had five saves for Central in the win.

West Chicago (7-3-2, 2-0-1) won 1-0 over Glenbard North Thursday on a Meagan Radloff goal, and it was Radloff that scored the lone goal in the team's loss to Hinsdale Central. WEGO coach Cesar Gomez: "The game against Hinsdale was played very quick early on and we were not ready. We played well in the second half and scored one. The girls are playing well and Hinsdale was better on Saturday."

Carmel (4-4-1) followed a 2-1 loss to Glenbrook North on Thursday with a 5-0 win over Bishop-McNamara in Mundelein on Saturday, getting goals from Meegan Johnston, Kelly Trillhaase, Brianne Carlson, and two from Shannon Jung in the win. Sarah McHugh netted Carmel's goal in the loss to Glenbrook North.

St. Francis (7-4-1) won 2-1 over McHenry on Friday in opening-round play of the Prospect tournament in Mt. Prospect on Friday. Andrea Ravlin scored in the first half on assists from Sydney Fox and Andy Matichak, and Matichak netted the game-winner with just 10 seconds remaining in the game, on assists from Kate Robak and Katie Ramsey.

West Aurora (5-4-1) won 2-1 over Streamwood on Monday and tied 4-4 with Plainfield East on Tuesday in Aurora. Sammie O'Brien and Reilly Kulakowski scored in the win over Streamwood with Kulakowski also assisting on O'Brien's goal. The Blackhawks led 3-2 at halftime vs. Plainfield East and fell behind 4-3 before a Kulakowski penalty kick tied the game. Kulakowski also had an assist in the game and West Aurora got goals from Lauren Gaffino, Jessica Saffell, and Alicia Rotolo in the game. Felicia Dattolo made 6 saves vs. Streamwood and 15 against Plainfield East.

Bartlett (6-3-3) tied 1-1 with St. Charles East on Thursday, getting a goal from Nicole Gobbo. Coach Heather Thomas: "It was a very close, well played game.  We went 1-0 about halfway into the first half.  We, however, battled back to tie the game at with just under 10 minutes left to go in the first half.  Amanda Zindel shot the ball far post from just outside the 18 yard box, the keeper had it go just under her arms and Nicole Gobbo put it away to tie the game.  The remainder of the game was a well fought battle that included some really good opportunities for both teams, neither one of us able to score."

Chicago Christian (9-4) won 3-1 over Montini on Tuesday, getting all three goals in the first half, from Megan Wise, Anica Pausma, and Amber Voss, on assists from Julie Michealis, Therese Walsh, and Therese Walsh. Coach Trevor Schans: "The Lady Knights earned another conference win on Tuesday night under the lights at CCHS. Three first half goals were enough to beat conference foe Montini. The scoring opened in the 12th minute of action when Julie Michealis released Meg Wise down the right wing. Wise took a touch and powered a shot into the near side of the goal. 11 minutes later the Knights struck again to retake the lead after a Montini goal. Therese Walsh slotted a pass from the end line finding Anica Pausma open. From 25 yards out Pausma struck a shot, beating the keeper to her left. The final goal was the result of good buildup play and put the game out of reach for Montini. Therese Walsh picked up her second assist of the game finding Amber Voss on a darting run into the box. Voss' one touch finish neatly kissed the right post before going in. In the second half the Knights continued to pressure but could not find another goal. The girls now stand at 7-3 overall and 4-2 in the Suburban Christian Conference. They will resume play on Friday against Bremen as they seek to defend their Reavis Invitation Championship."

The Lady Knights won 4-0 Bremen on Friday in their first game of this year's Reavis Invitational. Goals came from Carolyn Richards, Julie Michaelis, Therese Walsh, and Annalee Hoekstra, with two assists from Richard and one from Megan Wise. Chicago Christian went 1-1 on Saturday at Reavis, beating De La Salle 2-0 with goals by Julie Michaelis and Carolyn Richards, and Richards assisting on Michaelis' goal. The Lady Knights lost the title game to Reavis to finish a second place finish in the tournament.

Wheaton Academy (5-2) won 2-1 over Hinsdale South (4-4) on Thursday, getting goals from Kate Rogers (Crystal Thomas) and Ally Witt (Kerrin Clancy) in a Pepsi Showdown consolation contest. Warriors goalkeeper Kristen Morency made 7 saves in the win. The Warriors then topped Oswego 2-1 on Saturday, with goals coming from Crystal Thomas and Ally Witt and assists from Witt and Molly Cook.

Lyons Township (8-1-1) advanced to Saturday's Pepsi Showdown semifinals against Glenbrook South with a 2-0 win over top-seeded New Trier on Thursday, with Kelsey Holbert and Emily Lange scoring for the Lions.

Metea Valley (9-5-1) lost 3-2 in a Pepsi Showdown game to Lake Forest on Thursday, getting two goals from Jenna Kentgen and an assist from Kristina Tomares. Megan Geldernick made 5 saves for the Mustangs. Metea followed with a 2-0 win over Crystal Lake South (5-5-2) on goals from Alyssa Fox and McKenzie Scheesley, on a Fox assist. Megan Geldernick made 6 saves as Metea posted its 7th shutout of the season.

Naperville Central (7-3-1, 3-0) won 1-0 over Glenbard East (2-4-3, 0-2-1) in a DVC contest in Naperville on Thursday, getting a goal on a Meredith McEniff head shot goal off a Sabrina Cisneros cross with only 1:30 left in regulation. Jill D'Amico made 3 saves in the Redhawks' fifth shutout of the year. Veronica Fairbairn had 8 saves for the Rams.

Elk Grove (5-3-2) tied 1-1 in an MSL contest against Buffalo Grove on Wednesday, with Michelle Calmeyn scoring off a Jill Zelek assist.

Fremd (5-1) bounced back from its lone loss of the season to MSL rival Conant with a pair of dominant MSL victories. The Vikings won 8-0 over Hoffman Estates, getting two goals apiece from Elise Kotsakis and Jessa Rizzo, and one apiece from Kira Heggeland, Ashley McConnell, Bree Nishibun, and Carrie Wagner, and assists from Alexis Tice, Michelle Mottonen and Nicole Obos. Shanon Norris and Rachel Tenuta split time in net for the shutout. Norris was in net for a 4-0 win over Buffalo Grove and the team's third shutout of the year. The Vikings were led offensively by a Kotsakis hat-trick and an Obos goal, with Heggeland and Bekah Bostrom posting assists.

Conant (8-0, 5-0) won its fifth consecutive Mid Suburban League game with Wednesday's 1-0 win at Schaumburg, thanks to a long Kelsey Foss free kick midway through the second half.

Wheaton Academy (3-2, 3-0) won 8-0 over St. Edward in a Suburban Christian Conference game on Tuesday, with Kristen Morency making five saves in the Warriors' second shutout of the year. Crystal Thomas had 4 goals and 2 assists, Ally Witt had 3 goals and 2 assists, and Kate Rogers also tallied for WA. Rachel Nasralla, Molly Cook, and Alli Manske all chipped in assists on the day.

Glenbard West (4-5-3) won 7-0 over Proviso West on Tuesday with Kaitlin Moore posting two goals and an assist and Lauren Davis striking twice in the win. The Hilltoppers got a goal apiece from Molly Abromitis, Alyssa Evans, and Maddie Nelson, and an assist from Abby Ohrnstein. The Hilltoppers tied 1-1 with Glenbard North on Saturday with Lauren Davis heading in an Abby Ohrnstein corner kick with under a minute to play to earn the tie.

Downers Grove South (10-1-1, 2-0) got two goals apiece from Keri Kujawa and Sarrah Ludwig in a 6-0 West Suburban Gold win over visiting Willowbrook on Monday. The Mustangs earned their 7th shutout of the year and have given up 5 goals in 10 games this season. The Mustangs posted shutout No. 8 with Wednesday's 4-0 blanking of Lemont (6-2) with Amanda Myers in net. South got two goals from Stephanie Zurales on assists from Jessica Bronke and Ludwig, and a goal apiece from Emily Wauer and Jess Pikul. Megan Martin and Flo Beshiri also chipped in an assist each in the win.

Crystal Lake South (5-5-2, 3-1) won 3-0 over Dundee-Crown (3-7, 2-2) in a Fox Valley Conference game on Tuesday, getting goals from Alex Romano (Ellen Brunner), Karli Schumaker, and Kali Loescher on the way to the Gators' fourth shutout in five games with keeper Elizabeth Quinn (2 saves) in net. Dundee-Crown keeper Ali Sanders made 11 saves in the loss. The Gators lost 2-0 on Saturday to Metea Valley (9-5-1) in their final Pepsi Showdown game. The Gators earned a 16-10 edge in shots but couldn't solve Metea keeper Megan Geldernick. South keeper Elizabeth Quinn made 5 saves in the loss.

Hinsdale South (4-3, 1-0) won its third consecutive game in Monday's 5-0 West Suburban Gold win over Morton at home in Darien. Meagan McPherson scored twice and assisted on a goal, while the Hornets got a goal each from Jamie Walker, Brittney Noble, and Jessica Koziol, a pair of assists from Jackie Belmonte, and an assist apiece from Maggie Nicosia and Julie Vezzani. Defender Stacy Ruzicka and goalkeeper Vanessa Niestrom helped spearhead the team's second consecutive shutout. Coach Pat Wolf: "Everyone contributed to a well-played match."

Plainfield North (8-2-2) bounced back from a shootout loss to Loyola in a Pepsi quarterfinal match on Thursday with a 1-0 win over Libertyville on Saturday, on a Callie O'Donnell goal off a Kaela Leskovar assist. North goalkeepers Paige Polonus and Emily Brodict shared in the shutout.

Oak Park and River Forest (6-3-1, 0-1) lost 4-3 to York on Tuesday, with Huskies' goals coming from Emily Gullo, Alex Hanmmond, and Shelby Cozzette, and assists from Tesss Trinka and Sarah McCall in Oak Park. The Huskies followed with a 0-0 tie vs. Wheaton Warrenville South on Thursday and won 1-0 over St. Ignatius Saturday on a Tess Trinka goal.

Lockport (5-2) won 12-0 over Thornwood in a Southwest Suburban Conference game on Monday, with scoring coming from eight different players. Scoring their first goals of the season for the Porters were Cassie Pullia, Cassidy and Danielle Stortz, Jessica Liutkus, Leah Plescia, Alyssa Deyoung, Hannah Pilch, and Lauren Labanouskas. Deyoung and Lexi Cozzi shared the shutout in goal. The Porters play Lincoln Way West at home Thursday before playing Lincoln Way East Friday at Toyota Park.

Host Naperville North (5-2, 3-0) topped Glenbard East (2-2-3, 0-2-1) 4-0 in a DuPage Valley Conference game on Monday, getting a goal and two assists from Cora Climo, two assists from Hunter Drendel, and a goal apiece from Christa Szalach and Angela Widlacki. Goalkeepers Ellie Flessner and Allison Hitchcock shared in the shutout for the Huskies.
